Why Keepolo Only Creates Knee Sleeves for Basketball: The Origin Story

Why Keepolo Only Creates Knee Sleeves for Basketball: The Origin Story
Anyone who plays basketball regularly knows generic knee sleeves don’t work on court.
They slip during jumps, lack support for crossovers, cause leg numbness and wear fast on concrete courts.
Most gear brands make one sleeve for all sports, forced to compromise design to fit yoga, running and gym use. No universal brace can handle basketball’s constant jumps, lateral twists and hard collisions.
Players suffered persistent knee soreness from ill-fitting sleeves — this is how Keepolo started.
Launched in 2019 as an American sports medicine brand, our founders are lifelong ballers who played street and amateur leagues.
They saw teammates struggle with low-quality multi-sport braces, so we made a clear choice: leave the broad universal gear market and build protection only for basketball players.
We cooperated with sports medicine labs, surveyed hundreds of players of all positions and collected all real complaints about ordinary knee sleeves.
Over 12 months, every prototype was tested on indoor and outdoor courts by amateur and pro athletes. All updates came from genuine on-court feedback. We never adjusted designs for other sports; basketball performance was our only rule.
We focus only on basketball for a simple reason: basketball creates unique knee impact and torsion no other sport produces. Hoopers deserve sport-specific protection instead of compromised all-purpose sleeves.
While other brands expand product lines to attract more buyers, Keepolo keeps its focus. All research, testing and resources go to basketball gear only.
Our different styles for guards and forwards also come directly from players’ real court needs, not random design ideas. Every tweak fixes actual pain points on the court.
Since launch, we hold our core mission: we do not make knee sleeves for every activity. We create protective gear only for basketball lovers.
This exclusive focus lets every design match the natural movement of basketball perfectly.
